Letter To The Editor
Spring Lake Resident Brigitte Riello wrote a letter to the editor that was published in the News Sun. We thank Brigitte for her concern and urge other residents to write as well.
ONGOING SPRING LAKE SAGA:
"Since no one seems to be covering this continuing saga, it's time to let people know what's going on. In February of this year, Judge Estrada ruled in Spring Lake's favor regarding the issue of Sebring Airport Authority using the district's stormwater system. The judgement was they need to pay their fair share for using the system."
"Just to refresh your memories, Spring Lake is taking over 700 acres of stormwater runoff from SAA at no cost to them. Who is paying for this? The residents of Spring Lake. Is that fair? Of course not!"
"Since the SAA has an income approaching $9 million, why not build their own system to accomodate this runoff? It all seems pretty simple to me. There are only two choices: A-they should pay their fair share for the continued use of the system or B-build their own stormwater system to accomodate their 700 acres."
"Seriously, I am not a lawyer, but it's not exactly rocket science is it? The SAA approach seems to be trying to file more motions to tie this issue up in court over and over."
