FIRE STATION ONE STEP CLOSER!!

Highlands County has finally requested bids on the construction of the long awaited fire station in Spring Lake. The station will be built adjacent to water plant #2 on the west side of our district. Governor DeSantis approved the $3.2 million legislative appropriation in May of 2022. The funds became available on July 1, 2022. There is no logical or reasonable answer as to why it has taken 1,264 days for the County to finally get to this point. If those monies had been allocated to Spring Lake instead of the County, the station would be up and running!!! In spite of this delay, we can all appreciate that the long awaited and needed fire station is one step closer. We just hope construction moves in a most timely manner.

At the November 12 Landowners meeting Butch Copeland was re-elected to Seat #2 on the District Board of Supervisors. An Inaugural STATE OF THE DISTRICT report was presented, and a full copy is on the website home page at www.springlakefl.com

The District office will be closed November 27 and 28 for the Thanksgiving Holiday. Emergency services are available by calling 863-655-1715

Happy Thanksgiving from our Board and Staff to all residents and landowners.
