DRINKING WATER AND OTHER UPDATES
*We understand there has been concern regarding the water quality in the District, particularly related to the presence of hydrogen sulfide, which can produce a noticeable “egg-like” odor. Please be assured that the Spring Lake Improvement District is fully aware of the issue and actively working to address it.
Over the past few months, the Utility Department has been identifying and mitigating areas within the system that are affected by low water usage or limited customer activity, which can contribute to water quality challenges. As part of our ongoing efforts, we have been installing larger-diameter flushers at system dead ends and enhancing existing flushing locations. These improvements are helping to circulate water more effectively and reduce stagnant zones.
As a result of these changes, some areas may temporarily experience lower chlorine residuals than usual. We understand this may cause inconvenience, but please know that these measures are part of a broader strategy to improve water quality for all residents and customers. Your feedback is essential. If you are experiencing any water quality issues, we encourage you to contact the District Office at (863) 655-1715. Your reports help us monitor and respond to concerns more efficiently.
Thank you for your continued patience and understanding
