It is quite apparent that debris from IAN has not yet been picked up in Spring Lake. We have been notified that the number of claw trucks and haulers scheduled for Highlands County have been reduced by as much as 75% due to the damage in Southwest Florida and the higher need there.

While we are hopeful debris will begin to get picked up between October 17 and 22, it could be the following week as well.

Continue to use this extra time to your advantage. Trim trees and bushes and add to your debris pile. It is going to take a little while longer, but the County will be picking it up.

A final clarification from previous blasts. The County has said, DO NOT put bagged items in with your debris pile; keep them separate and distinct or your debris pile will not be picked up.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
