The Storm Water Treatment Area is nearly finished, and the project is expected to completely close out by February. The Board continues to discuss the establishment of an ECO Park that would provide restrooms, picnic tables, benches, grilles, a pavilion, and a 1.3 mile walking and bike path. Highlands County has offered to pay the $76,000 infrastructure costs for the Park. A Public Workshop was held on Wednesday, February 1st, 10:00 a.m. at the District Office. Several dozen residents attended the Workshop to voice their support for the ECO Park, and many others sent in letters and e-mails of support as well. The Board will vote to accept the grant from Highlands County at their next Board Meeting on February 15th.
